Now fully restored, Saint Nicolas Place is providing a memorable venue for education, the community, private functions and corporate events. At Saint Nicolas Place we work extremely hard in ensuring that the venue is available so that the community can attend many different activities. Being of considerable historical and architectural importance, we are continually working towards providing an educational environment as well as offering Heritage activities. We feel that our community is highly important and so we therefore provide an area that welcomes both children and families. We support life long learning and also the all important health and fitness of the community.
In the last 8 years we have learnt that getting buildings of great historical and architectural significance restored and reopened to the public is very much only the beginning. Generating income to sustain those operations and reacting to changes in the economy whilst staying true to other charitable objects is a pretty difficult act!
Whilst the Restoration capital funds were in the form of grants, no provision could be made from these funds for longer term maintenance and operation. Indeed part of the assessment for the award of such monies was made by the Heritage Lottery Fund on the strength of the draft business plan put forward to sustain operations into the future. The economic changes which occurred during and since restoration have made this a much more difficult task, but one which the Board, staff team and friends have positively embraced.
By supporting us and making a donation to St Nicolas Place you are helping to secure the future of these fantastic old buildings for the community of Kings Norton and beyond for years to come.
