Old Grammar School

Ground floor
One of the oldest teaching buildings in the country is now available for both private and corporate meetings. The ground floor has wonderful mullioned window frames on which marks can still be seen where schoolchildren, over decades, have sharpened their pen knives to make nib shapes from quills.

It is still a place of learning.

First floor
Ideal for meetings of up to 40 people, the Old Grammar School’s first floor boasts a number of stunning features including the 1490s timber roof, an imposing window thought to have been originally set within the church walls, and wall paneling made from historic doors, complete with key-holes! A desk can still be seen with ancient graffiti. The desk legs have been recycled from 13th century church furniture.
