A Tudor merchant’s house, a medieval school and a beautiful ancient church, provide the stunning back drop and meeting place for private parties and the most romantic of wedding venues.
Cleverly incorporating unobtrusive modern facilities, Saint Nicolas Place has four licensed rooms for civil ceremonies, and can host receptions and meetings for up to eighty guests, whilst the Old Grammar School is ideal for more intimate celebrations for up to forty. As no two events are the same, we are able to supply menus tailored to your exact requirements.
In the Tudor Merchant’s House, a modern staircase leads you to the impressive North Hall where centuries-old oak beams convey a real sense of grandeur. Guests can travel through time via a walkway leading from the fifteenth century into a comfortable, modern banqueting suite. The smaller Queen’s Room, where Queen Henrietta Maria is reputed to have slept in 1643, is also available for meetings, buffets, photography or just as a quiet, chill-out space.
The whole Saint Nicolas Place complex provides ample open space with exquisitely photogenic backgrounds. Enjoy a village atmosphere within a city that has all the facilities, including hotels on the doorstep, to make your day perfect.
